En videnskabelig undersøgelse foretaget under Oslo universitets flymedicinske fakultet viste at den enkeltfaktor som flest klasse 1 piloter identificerer som en stor trussel mod deres mentale velvære var risikoen for “loss of licence”!

I en opgørelse fra samme land finder man at risikoen for dette dog er ret lav!

Omkring 1 % af de flyvemedicinske undersøgelser!

Den faktuelle risiko for loss of licence er ret lav, fordi piloter i udgangspunktet er raske mennesker, der ligesom de fleste andre med tiden oplever helbredsændringer der kan afhjælpes, så de efter kortere eller længere tids tilretning, er på vinger igen.

Det kan så godt være at man skal væne sig til at flyve med briller, bruge et høreapparat, blodtryksmedicin, gennemgå en hjerteudredning eller et program ift. en livskrise, men faktum er at der indenfor CAA er meget vide grænser for hvad man “må fejle” blot ens AME/AEMC ved det og man følger dennes vejledning!

Som din AME vil jeg tilbyde min ekspertise ift dokumentation til trafikstyrelsen / EASA, men også arbejde proaktivt for at du kan gå rundt med en god fornemmelse af at der er “styr” på din sundhed.

 

Lovkrav som du bør kende:

“MED.A.020 Decrease in medical fitness

Regulation (EU) 2019/27

(a) Licence holders shall not exercise the privileges of their licence and related ratings or certificates, and student pilots shall not fly solo, at any time when they:

(1) are aware of any decrease in their medical fitness which might render them unable to safely exercise those privileges;

(2) take or use any prescribed or non-prescribed medication which is likely to interfere with the safe exercise of the privileges of the applicable licence;

(3) receive any medical, surgical or other treatment that is likely to interfere with the safe exercise of the privileges of the applicable licence.

(b) In addition, holders of a medical certificate shall, without undue delay and before exercising the privileges of their licence, seek aero-medical advice from the AeMC, AME or GMP, as applicable, when they:

have undergone a surgical operation or invasive procedure; have commenced the regular use of any medication;

have suffered any significant personal injury involving incapacity to function as a member of the flight crew;

have been suffering from any significant illness involving incapacity to function as a member of the flight crew;

are pregnant;

have been admitted to hospital or medical clinic; first require correcting lenses.

cases referred to in point (b):

holders of class 1 and class 2 medical certificates shall seek the aero-medical advice of an AeMC or AME. In that case, the AeMC or AME shall assess their medical fitness and decide whether they are fit to resume the exercise of their privileges;

holders of light aircraft pilot licence medical certificates shall seek the aero-medical advice of an AeMC, an AME or the GMP who signed the medical certificate. In that case, the AeMC, AME or GMP shall assess their medical fitness and decide whether they are fit to resume the exercise of their privileges.

(d) Cabin

exercise the privileges of their cabin crew attestation when they are aware of any decrease in their medical fitness, to the extent that this medical condition might render them unable to discharge their safety duties and responsibilities.

Requirements

SUBPART A – GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

   (e) In addition, if any of the medical conditions specified in points (1) to (5) of point (b) apply, cabin crew members shall, without undue delay, seek the advice of an AME, AeMC or OHMP, as applicable. In that case, the AME, AeMC or OHMP shall assess the medical fitness of the cabin crew members and decide whether they are fit to resume their safety duties.”

Den flyvemedicinske undersøgelse

Undersøgelsens formål er at undersøge om der hos ansøgeren foreligger tilstande der kan bringe sikkerheden i fare under varetagelse af nærmere konkretiserede funktioner i et luftfarts milj samt at vurdere om ansøgeren fysisk og mentalt er i stand til at påtage sig denne opgave. Undersøgelsens omfang er tilpasset den ansøgte kategori og indebærer hvad man kan kalde en standart lægeundersøgelse af øjne ører hjerte lunger mave koordination hørelse syn og nervesystem. I nogle tilfælde EKG, Lungefunktion, syns høre og farvetestning.

I nogle situationer tages urin og blodprøve mhp Drug/Alkohol men det er kun hvis man arbejder for et flyselskab der kræver dette. I andre tilfælde kræves blot en urinprøve mhp indhold af protein blod og sukker. Denne kategori af urinprøve kan foretages uden påsyn.
